Spectra combines enterprise-grade automated protections with transparent user education and responsive moderation to create a robust shield against spam, abuse, and malicious activity.
Technical Defenses
The platform implements an advanced Web Application Firewall (WAF) with intelligent rate-limiting rules. These rules monitor and control traffic based on specific criteria, such as the number of requests originating from a single IP address within a given timeframe. This proactive measure is standard industry practice and helps protect the platform from being overwhelmed by malicious traffic.

User Reporting

Distributed Storage Architecture
Spectra operates on a Zero-Knowledge Edge Architecture. We do not store files on traditional centralized servers. Instead, files are secured across our distributed edge-storage network, and Spectra simply acts as the secure metadata router that generates your custom embed links. This means Spectra's availability for stored content depends on the edge network being operational and accessible.
Remote Link Compatibility
While the "Link Upload" feature supports raw direct URLs from most standard web hosts (Discord CDN, Telegram, direct download links), some corporate cloud providers may block hotlinking or use expiring streaming tokens. Remote links from major cloud providers are automatically translated where possible, but some edge cases may still require direct download URLs for reliable playback.
Server-Side Fetch Limits
Due to edge network free-tier limits, server-side remote fetching has a size ceiling to prevent timeout and resource exhaustion. Files exceeding this limit must be uploaded directly via the browser-based Edge-Chunking Protocol, which handles the transfer client-side and bypasses server-side constraints entirely.
